Colleen Fliedner is a multi-published author, journalist, and travel writer. She has had two nonfiction books published, including a work-for-hire book for Los AngelesCounty, and recently signed a contract to write a history book series. Colleen’s background covers a wide range of writing experience, including an optioned screenplay, radio scripts and interviews, magazine and newspaper articles, plays, radio and television advertisements, a cable TV. mini-series and over 100 travel articles.
In 2006 the Orange County Register newspaper, second only in circulation throughout Southern California to the Los Angeles Times, hired Colleen to write for their newly launched online travel publication, www.DiscoverOC. She wrote more than 50 articles for the OCR and continues to Blog for the Freedom Communications web site.
In addition, Colleen has freelanced for various magazines, newspapers, and online travel websites. Her most recent newspaper credits include the Los Angeles Times Travel Section, the Community Bugle, Massachusetts Sun, and the Downey Patriot. Magazine credits include: Westways Magazine ( AAA ), Native Peoples, Historical Novels Review, The Old California Gazette, BajaTRAVELER, France Today, Home and Away (Midwest Auto Club), So. California Meetings & Events, and M. D. News Magazine. Online magazine credits include: Real Travel Adventures, BeachCalifornia, IgoUgo, Vacation Travel Channel, OffBeat Travel, and Travel World International Magazine.
Colleen was a regular contributor for Talking Travel Radio Network, writing articles for the online newsletter and being interviewed about various travel destinations. (www.ttrn.com/contributors.htm) Her newest on-the-air ventures will be with Sunday Travel Radio (based in Florida), and Carmel Mooney’s “Travel, Dining & Entertainment” Radio Talk Show (Station KJAY based in Sacramento, CA).
